We are a Gaelic Athletic Association club founded in 1964 and situated in a rural area in the southern part of Navan parish in County Meath. We have 550 members of which half are under 18 years of age. We have two full size pitches and a smaller training pitch and a clubhouse hall, meeting room, dressing rooms and gym. We are a “One Club” model with football teams from nursery, Go Games, all age groups of boys and girls, two adult men’s teams (Intermediate and Premiership), women’s team (Junior), Dads & Lads and Mothers & Others squads.
We facilitate our local Active Retirement group and Cannistown Area Residents Association with our walking track, meeting rooms, indoor bowls in our club hall, pickle ball, badminton, art classes, Our Kids Code, yoga, palatice, gym room, and also accommodate Meath LGFA meetings and presentations.
We also facilitate Cannistown National school for football, hurling and camogie training and games, sports days and in using our hall for school plays etc.
We joined the Green Clubs project in 2022 and were accepted as an “Evaluation Club” in level 2 of Green Clubs in 2023. We have set up a committee of four and we have attended all the meetings and webinars scheduled for us and progressed through the milestones and are currently preparing to complete level 7 Launch and Charter.
