Bective impress in the second half.
Bective win their opening home match against Meath Hill in windy conditions. Bective, with new team manager David Hosie, were keen to start well and went into an early two point lead with scores from Cathal Mc Connell and Paul McCabe. Meath Hill, playing with a strong breeze, contested every ball and drew level at 3 points each after 15 minutes. Bective continued to attack but early season wrong choices and leaving open spaces in defence facilitated a mobile Meath Hill who dictated the scoring for the rest of the half with 1-3.
The half time chat seemed to inspire Bective, and with the advantage of the strong wind, they began the second half determined to overcome a 6 point deficit with constant attacks on the Meath Hill goals. Their persistence was rewarded with a sequence of 4 fine points before Kevin Brennan finished a crossed ball to the net to put Bective 1 point up. Bective continued dominating the play and added 2 goals from Sean Keating and a further 7 points to 1- 0 from Meath Hill. Bective introduced Jarlath Brennan, Ben Malone, Ciaran Mc Connell, Ciaran Casey, David Fitzpatrick and Donagh Garvey.
